No nuclear reactor for Wollongong!

Both the Howard Coalition government and the ALP Opposition are calling for an expansion of Australia's nuclear industry. The Greens oppose nuclear power and the threats associated with the proliferation of nuclear weapons. Reports that nuclear power plants will be built along the east coast of Australia in places such as Port Kembla harbour, Lake Illawarra and Jervis Bay are cause for concern, due to the toxicity of nuclear materials.

Tibet was an independent country prior to its invasion and occupation by the People’s Republic of China in 1949 and 1959. United Nations Resolution 1723 (XVI) of 1961 asserts that under international law Tibetans are entitled to the right of self determination.
