Michael Organ, 8 July 2007

No nuclear reactor for Wollongong! - Anit-nuclear campaign

Both the Howard Coalition government and the ALP Opposition are calling for an expansion of Australia's nuclear industry. The Greens oppose nuclear power and the threats associated with the proliferation of nuclear weapons. Reports that nuclear power plants will be built along the east coast of Australia in places such as Port Kembla harbour, Lake Illawarra and Jervis Bay are cause for concern, due to the toxicity of nuclear materials.

Wilton International Airport? - No Way! - TELL LABOR: NO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN OUR BACKYARD

The Australian Labor party decided in its 2004 Annual conference to consider the construction of an airport at Wilton, if it wins Government in order to reduce the impact of aeroplane noise in its inner Sydney seats of Grayndler and Sydney.

What you can do:

Write to Mark Latham PO Box 191 Ingleburn NSW 1890, or email him at mark.latham.mp@ aph.gov.au , or fax him on 9829 7499 or 6277 8495

Tell Labor an international airport in our backyard is a bad idea.

Same Sex Relationships - Lets remove discrimination everywhere for everyone

On 24 May this year Michael Organ introduced a Private Members Bill into Federal Parliament which aims to
remove discrimination against same sex marriages. Not to be content with that, Michael believes sexuality law reform will remain unfinished business in this country until each and every law that discriminates against people who are not heterosexual is abolished.

I look forward to this particular campaign being collaborative where your skills, knowledge and experience can enhance our efforts and hopefully bring about some just solutions for those seeking a safe haven in our communities.

Life Travel Gold Pass - Derail the Gravy Train!

The time to review retired politicians entitlements is long overdue.
The Greens believe retired politicians should be treated exactly the same as everybody else in the community and that their remuneration should be in line with community standards.

That means that excessive benefits such as lifetime free travel passes and inordinate superannuation payments should be abolished so that they more accurately reflect community expectations and standards.
